We are just days away from the 125th Celebration Concert! In honor of Deer Park's 125th anniversary, all residents are invited to a free concert and community event on Saturday, November 4th from 4-9PM, featuring headliner RaeLynn, Shell’s 7 Mile Perimeter band, food trucks, history and more!

Partnering with Shell, the 125th Anniversary Committee - which includes participation from the City of Deer Park, the Deer Park Independent School District and the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce – will hold this fun, family-friendly event in the Abshier Stadium Parking lot. Please see parking details below.

"We've spent the entire year building up to this event, and we're looking forward to bringing all of Deer Park together for this family-friendly concert experience," Mayor Jerry Mouton said. "It is an honor to announce that RaeLynn, whose hits include 'Lonely Call' and 'Love Triangle,' will be the headliner of our event, with lots more features to enjoy.”

According to Barry Klein, General Manager of Shell Deer Park, attendees will have the opportunity to take part in the “Shell Experience,” which will include a pop-up museum of the entity’s 88-year history in Deer Park, showcasing the past, present and future of the site. The space will also include a 360-degree virtual reality tour of the Shell Deer Park, bouncy castles for kids and much more.

“We are proud to be part of the ongoing legacy of the birthplace of Texas and so excited to be the presenting sponsor for the 125th Celebration,” Klein said. “We look forward to seeing our employees, their families and the entire Deer Park community participate in an event that celebrates our history and legacy, all leading up to performances by Shell’s own 7 Mile Perimeter band and country music superstar RaeLynn.”

Make sure to bring your appetite and some spending money - food trucks from around Houston including Predator and Prey, Foreign Policy, Maine-ly Sandwiches, Bubba’s Texas Burger Shack, Wylie Street Tacos and Space City Spudz will offer a variety of delicious treats!

Attendees are also reminded to bring lawn chairs.

The City of Deer Park is honored and excited to announce its 125th Anniversary Celebration, and we are inviting all local citizens, Texas residents and guests nationwide to join us in the festivities!

Officially, our City will have been incorporated for 125 years as of December 20, 2017, so since we have a whole year to celebrate, we’re making the most of it. Each month, the City of Deer Park, the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce, the Deer Park Independent School District and other entities will hold special events, concerts and other community gatherings, made even better by emphasis on – and celebration of – the City’s history.

Deer Park is very proud of its place in Texas history. From the moment Simeon Henry West settled here in 1892, our area has experienced growth, weather-related and environmental challenges, revitalization with the arrival of Shell in 1928, and the strong and steady growth our residents have watched since our incorporation in 1948. For more information about our history as a City, explore the History of Deer Park section of our Web site, visit the Deer Park Public Library, and be on the lookout for our digital photo database, expected to launch this year!

Now, on to our special events! If you’ve ever visited our City, you know we have lots of family-friendly activities to look forward to, from holiday-based celebrations like Fourth Fest or Reindeer Park to a series of free concerts held weekly from May to August in Dow Park! If you love theater, we’re also home to one of the last remaining dinner theaters in the state, and we’ll have four Art Park Player productions throughout 2017 that you won’t want to miss. We’re also planning special receptions around the date of our anniversary, as well as historical presentations throughout the year.

The Deer Park Chamber of Commerce also has a lot going on, from their annual banquet to golf tournaments at our very own Battleground Golf Course to periodic luncheons, even large-scale community gatherings with live music and entertainment.

Finally, the Deer Park Independent School District will host an expanded Homecoming celebration in 2017, as well as other annual traditions like “Hello, Texas,” a chance for Deer Park High School students to showcase their musical talents.

Of course, that’s just the beginning of the exciting things going on during 2017. From the San Jacinto Day Festival and Battle Reenactment to the annual Strides for Schools Fun Run sponsored by Shell, there’s far too much to look forward to for us to fit on this page. Because we know you’ll want to stay up to date on all of our events, we encourage you to visit the Facebook pages below:
