Our traffic division maintains 45 traffic signals, traffic signs, and street signs throughout the city. But they are responsible for much more than traffic. This small division also performs electrical and HVAC maintenance for all city facilities. They also occasionally perform electrical inspections when our regular electrical inspector is on vacation.
The Traffic Division has two supervisors, one electrical supervisor and one traffic supervisor. Chris McNeely is the electrical supervisor. Mr. McNeely is a master electrician and also holds his Residential Electrical Inspector Certification and Commercial Electrical Inspector license. He started working full-time for the City of Deer Park in 1985 with the Parks and Recreation Department. In 1991, he began working as a maintenance electrician in the Public Works Department. He worked as the electrical inspector from 1993 to 2000 when he was promoted to Electrical Supervisor.
Doug Niemeyer is our traffic supervisor. Mr. Niemeyer is a licensed journeyman electrician, holds a residential electrical inspector cortication and has received certifications from the International Municipal Signal Association as well as. He began working for the City in 1997 as a maintenance technician III with the Traffic Division and in 2008 he was promoted to traffic supervisor.
The division also consist of Chris Rains who holds a journeymen electrical license and HVAC license. Doug Wright who an HVAC license as well as Pat Cornor who is our maintenance electrician.
